Suspect In Greenwich Home Invasion Extradited From New York

He was apprehended following a violent home invasion earlier this month.

GREENWICH, CT — The 46-year-old suspect in a violent home invasion on Aug. 4 in Greenwich has been extradited from New York to Connecticut, according to Greenwich police.

New York City resident Hassan R. Washington and several accomplices allegedly forced their way into a Brook Drive home on the afternoon of the 4th and bound and beat the homeowner while demanding money and jewelry.

The attack was considered to be targeted, and so far, Washington is the only alleged perpetrator who has been caught after detectives quickly developed him as a suspect. He was apprehended in New York on Aug. 7, and additional arrests are expected.

Members of the Greenwich Police Department traveled New York Wednesday to transport Washington back to Connecticut, where he is being held in lieu of bail of $500,000. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Stamford Superior Court on Aug. 23.
