Suspected Car Thief Is Nabbed in Greenwich
The suspect was originally stopped by police for speeding.

A man who Greenwich Police say they stopped because he was speeding along West Putnam Avenue is facing car theft charges.
According to a police report, the suspect was stopped for speeding about 10:45 a.m. Jan. 16 and was found to be driving an Enterprise rental car but he couldn’t provide any documentation for the car or “explain how he came to be in possession of the car.”
Police contacted Enterprise Rent-a-Car and the person who had rented the vehicle, according to the report. The person who rented the car told Greenwich Police “the vehicle had been stolen earlier in the Bronx (NY) and he was in the process of reporting it to the New York Police Department,” according to the report.
