Tarkington Back On Ballot As Greenwich Republicans Select BET Candidates
The party held its primary Tuesday.

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich Board of Estimate and Taxation incumbent Leslie Tarkington, who had to petition to force a Republican primary, was successful Tuesday in winning enough votes to get back on the ballot for this fall's election, according to unofficial vote totals from the town's Registrar of Voters.
Seven Republican candidates were vying for six slots on the ticket, and Tarkington garnered the fourth most votes with 1,112.
Newcomer Debra Hess received the most votes with 1,324, followed by incumbent Michael Mason with 1,240. Newcomer Andy Duus was third with 1,150 votes and then Tarkington.

In fifth place was newcomer Karen Fassuliotis with 1,061 votes, followed by incumbent Bill Drake with 1,051.
Incumbent member Nancy Weissler did not receive enough votes to make it onto the ballot, garnering 1,017 votes.

Of 12,793 registered Republicans in Greenwich, 1,942 voted in Tuesday's primary or just over 15 percent, according to officials.
