Thief Enters Greenwich Garage, Steals Car
Greenwich Police say the thief entered a closed garage, took the car keys and then the car.

A brazen car thief stole into a local resident’s garage and drove off with a BMW sedan that was parked inside the garage.
The thief opened the unlocked door to the garage on Morningside Drive in the Cos Cob neighborhood of town sometime Friday, took the keys that were inside the garage and then drove off with the 2002 BMW 750i sedan, according to Greenwich Police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray.
“Everything was unlocked … they opened the garage door,” Gray said. Gray said the residence is close to Exit 4 of the Connecticut Turnpike.

Gray said police don’t believe the theft that was reported shortly after 4 p.m. May 15 is related to the series of thefts of high-end SUVS that have plagued the town in recent months.
Since November, more than a dozen pricey SUVs including Range Rovers and Mercedes Benz models have been swiped by car thieves who capitalized on most drivers leaving the vehicles unlocked with the keys inside.
