CT Weather: Thunderstorms Possible This Afternoon as Temps Soar
It seems today's forecast feels more like late summer than spring. Here's the details on a stormy forecast.

Today will feel more like a mid-August day as the heat and humidity escalate, which could lead to the chance for thunderstorms this afternoon and evening in Connecticut. Temperatures will exceed 80 degrees across the state, and parts of Northern Connecticut could approach 90 degrees. It's hard to fathom that only a couple of weeks ago snowflakes were falling in parts of the state.
The National Weather Service says we could see "record highs" today and "in addition to the warm temperatures, a few thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening ... Some of these storms could contain strong gusty winds and brief heavy downpours," for Southern Connecticut.
For Northern Connecticut, a Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued due to the storm chance. "Thunderstorms with strong to damaging wind gusts, as well as heavy rain, are possible ... There is also the potential for localized urban and poor drainage flooding."

More storms are possible late Friday for Connecticut, the National Weather Service says. Temps will begin to decline on Saturday to more normal levels for this time of year.
Severe weather threat today looks pretty limited. Less instability modeled now than before. Some gusty storms still possible but it doesn't look like a major issue. #nbcct pic.twitter.com/605z9QuRsF
