Upcoming Greenwich Flu & Pneumonia Vaccine Clinics

The Greenwich Health Department is offering four clinics this month.

GREENWICH, CT — Flu season is here, and so are flu and pneumonia vaccine clinics from the Greenwich Department of Health.

Here is this month's flu vaccine schedule. All take place at Greenwich Town Hall, 101 Field Point Road, on the ground floor.

  • Friday, Oct. 7, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 12, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 20, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 25, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Acceptable insurance coverage

  • Anthem BC/BS
  • Traditional Medicare Part B
  • Medicare Advantage Plans
  • United Healthcare/Oxford

The pneumonia vaccine is one covered by traditional Medicare Part B and United/Oxford.

Anthem Medicare Advantage plans do not cover the pneumonia vaccine at public clinics.

Medicaid will not be accepted, however, patients are advised to call 203-622-6495 for assistance.

Aetna or Magnacare insurance will not be accepted.

There are fees for no insurance or unaccepted insurance:

  • Seasonal influenza vaccine: $35
  • High dose vaccine (65 years and older): $65
  • Pneumonia (PPSV-23): $118
  • Pneumonia (PCV-15): $235

Residents are asked to bring their insurance cards with them.

Exact change for cash is preferred, and checks can be made out to the Town of Greenwich. Credit cards are not accepted.

Masks must be worn in the clinic. Short sleeves should be worn, and residents should arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before the start of the clinic.

The public is encouraged to call the flu line at 203-622-3774 prior to attending any clinics. All changes to the set schedule will be recorded and publicized to the best of the health department's capability.
