Vehicle Stolen In Greenwich: PD
Police remind residents to lock their vehicles and to make sure the keys are brought inside.

GREENWICH, CT — A vehicle was stolen from Shore Road in Greenwich last week, according to police. Lt. John Slusarz said a 2012 Mercedes Benz ML350 was stolen sometime overnight on Nov. 1.
Slusarz said the owners reported having two sets of keys but one set was missing.
Last month, three vehicle were stolen from various areas in Greenwich. According to Slusarz, a 2014 Lexus GX 460 was stolen from Otter Rock Drive on Oct. 14.

Five days later, a 2019 Mercedes was stolen from Ballwood Road. Slusarz said the vehicle was unlocked with the keys inside. It was recovered out of town the following day.
A day later, a Subaru Crosstrek was taken from a driveway on Hettiefred Road. Slusarz said the vehicle was also unlocked with the keys inside. It was also later recovered.

"These criminals are basically lazy," Slusarz said to Patch. "They'll come into neighborhoods early in the morning or late at night and check all the vehicles' doors, looking for cars that are unlocked."
Slusarz said criminals often look in the glove boxes of unlocked vehicles for valuables and find the keys to the vehicle. Police remind residents to lock their vehicles and to make sure the keys are brought inside.
