Police remind residents to lock their vehicles and to make sure the keys are brought inside.

GREENWICH, CT — Several vehicles were stolen and one was burglarized in Greenwich last week, according to Greenwich Police. Lieutenant John Slusarz said the first of the vehicle thefts occurred on Oct. 14 when a 2014 Lexus GX 460 was stolen from Otter Rock Drive.
On Saturday, a 2019 Mercedes was stolen from Ballwood Road. According to Slusarz, the vehicle was unlocked with the keys inside. It was recovered out of town the following day.
On Sunday, a Subaru Crosstrek was taken from a driveway on Hettiefred Road. Slusarz said the vehicle was also unlocked with the keys inside. It was recovered on Monday.

"These criminals are basically lazy," Slusarz said to Patch earlier this month. "They'll come into neighborhoods early in the morning or late at night and check all the vehicles' doors, looking for cars that are unlocked."
Slusarz said criminals often look in the glove boxes of unlocked vehicles for valuables and find the keys to the vehicle. Police remind residents to lock their vehicles and to make sure the keys are brought inside.
