CT Weather: Thunderstorms, Rain Dominate Weekend Forecast

We just can't catch a break lately when it comes to the weather and sadly that luck continues.

Well maybe the fall will bring us some nicer weather. This summer has been either very rainy and stormy and or hot and insanely humid, and sadly that unpleasant stretch of weather will continue through this upcoming weekend and beyond, according to the National Weather Service.

According to the weather service's latest forecast, Connecticut could experience thunderstorms and showers Friday night, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Not the best news, especially if you have weekend outdoor plans.

As always, the chance of storms is around 50 percent so no one really has much notice of when the storms may roll through. There is also a lot of clouds in our future too. One piece of good news is that temps will be around 80 degrees instead of in the 90s. (Keep up with CT events and news by subscribing to Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)

Before we get to the weekend, the weather service says, "A cold front is expected to move east across the region today then offshore by tonight. Drier conditions expected today with slightly less humidity but still very warm. Highs today will be in the upper 80s to near 90 and lows tonight mainly the mid 60s to lower 70s.

"Dry weather prevails through Friday morning. There will be a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms ... Friday afternoon. Chances for showers and thunderstorms increase Friday night into the weekend as another cold front approaches," the weather service adds.

WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons says, "The weather will get nicer and nicer today! The humidity will drop & there will be some sunshine with temperatures 85 to 90. Nice weather this evening and overnight tonight! OK for Friday during the day with dry weather. Rain returns for the weekend, unfortunately."
