Warning Issued About Possible Fake Greenwich Town Party Tickets

Greenwich police say residents should be on the lookout for counterfeiters.

GREENWICH, CT — With 2018 Greenwich Town Party tickets selling out in minutes, Greenwich police are warning residents to be on the lookout for counterfeiters lurking around secondary ticket markets who are reselling fake tickets.

"Community and Neighbor tickets (two of three tickets levels) for the Greenwich Town Party sold out within minutes on Thursday, April 5, 2018 - similar to years past," wrote Greenwich police in a statement. "Due to the increased popularity of the event year after year, Greenwich residents and employees who were not able to purchase tickets tend to look for another way to acquire them."

The department says that "the only legitimate way to purchase tickets is through greenwichtownparty.org/tickets/." Although regular tickets are sold out, sponsor level tickets are still available.

Anyone who tries to gain entry to the May 26 event with a counterfeit ticket will be turned away, said police.

"Buyers should be suspicious of ticket offerings from any other person or business, as there are those who may try to take advantage of a sold out event by selling counterfeit tickets," added Greenwich police.
