WEATHER ALERT: Fairfield County Under Flood Warning

After Sunday morning's ice event, now heavy rains can lead to flooding this afternoon.

Adding insult to injury after Sunday morning’s ice storm, now the National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for all of Fairfield County from now until 6:15 p.m.

Heavy rain is moving through the area right now and already an inch of precipitation has fallen and another inch is expected, which means flooding is expected, the National Weather Service predicts.

May rivers and streams could flood, according to the alert. Please do not drive your vehicle through areas where water covers the roadway, the National Weather Service states.
