WHAT IS SENATOR MURPHY THINKING?

When I read this morning that Chris Murphy had teamed up with Bob Corker to propose a six-cent increase in the gasoline tax I was incredulous!  The proposal has at its core using the money for highway infrastructure! 
There are only two groups that need to pay additional taxes to fix the highways, the oil companies and oil speculators!  These entities have already built corporate and personal fortunes on the backs of the American taxpayer who in fact provide the highways upon which their fuel is consumed!  No interstate, less gas consumed ,less profits for big oil and speculators.
I suggest that Senators Murphy and Corker observe just what a difference six cents a gallon makes with average working people and mothers and fathers getting kids transported.  On High Ridge Road in Stamford there are two gasoline stations, CiITGO and Global that sell gasoline at approximately six cents less than most of the competitors.  Guess where people are queued up! Correct, Senators, six cents makes a big difference!
Is Chris Murphy already suffering from Washington myopia?  I hope not.
Stop this foolishness. Life is hard enough for working people. Make the folks who are making fortunes pay for the roads that are in fact the foundation of their profits. Is this too complicated Senators?
