GREENWICH, CT — A Stamford woman accused of selling prescription painkillers to an undercover police officer faces new charges after police said she provided an undercover cop with a phony positive COVID-19 test from her place of work.

Demi Taylor Fecteau, 31, of Stamford, turned herself in to Greenwich police on April 11 on a warrant that charged her with third-degree criminal attempt at identity theft and third-degree criminal attempt at forgery, according to her arrest report. She was released after posting a $25,000 bond.

Earlier this month, police said they launched an investigation into Fecteau, who was suspected of selling drugs from her place of employment in Greenwich.

She was arrested on March 29 after selling prescription painkillers to an undercover officer, police said.

During that investigation, an undercover officer requested a fictitious positive COVID-19 antigen test using a fake patient name, police said.

Fecteau provided a text message picture of a positive test using the fictional name on a "The Doctor's Office" letterhead, which is where Fecteau works, police said.

An arrest warrant was granted by a Stamford Superior Court judge.

Fecteau is scheduled to appear in court on April 25.
