At Inspiring Capital's we have developed a program that is unique in its focus on fulfilling career options in the Social Enterprise Sector. The definition of a Social Enterprise is one that harnesses the power of capitalism, and the skills of private sector professionals, to solve a social problem and make a profit.

The program is designed to provide clarity, confidence, and connections, and also provides inspiration-- an intangible sense of meaning that actually makes employees 225% more productive, according to this Bain study and so much more likely to stick at when the going gets tough, as we all know it does from time to time. The program also helps women to understand how their skills might align with potential social enterprise employers, the confidence to transition into this sector, and provide a network of potential organizations they might want to work for.

How do WE do this?

Our program is made up of the initial four day workshop, held over two weeks, to enable the level of learning and thinking to reach deeper levels AND ongoing support and access to our network. The workshop is built around developing confidence, skills and knowledge. This is achieved by spending time on personal development activities, learning about the social enterprise, it’s changing and growing landscape and providing network connections, becoming part of a cohort of like minded people, direct introductions and jobs and networking events.

Once you have finished the workshop we will facilitate direct introductions on your behalf to people you might like to know in our network, send along weekly readings, events, and jobs we think you might be interested, provide a forum for you to share your fears and concerns, and do whatever we can to help you find the clarity and connections to reach your next steps.

Each day of the workshop is held in the workplaces of one of these social enterprise companies. The program features panel discussions, practical workshops, and conversations with industry experts and our alumni, who will share their real-world experiences on trends, best practices, and an inside perspective on work in the sector.

What can You do next?

Applications are now open for a four-day entry program that will start in Fairfield County on the 7th November 2017. After completing the program, the participants will be granted ongoing access to Inspiring Capital's growing network of potential employers, other alumnae, and inspiring social impact organizations.
