Young Artists Philharmonic to Host Auditions

From the Young Artists Philharmonic: On Monday, August 28 and Saturday, September 9, the Young Artists Philharmonic (YAP) will be holding pre-season auditions for new members. Auditions will be held in both Greenwich and Stamford. To sign up, please register online here.

The Young Artists Philharmonic (YAP) provides the serious young music student with intensive group rehearsals, seminars with professional musicians, and exciting performance opportunities both locally and at venues such as Carnegie Hall. One highlight of YAP’s upcoming season will be a tour to Rome, Italy. These opportunities reflect YAP’s mission to provide young people with life-changing experiences that will help them grow as musicians and as people.

YAP rehearsals take place Mondays at Temple Sholom in Greenwich (300 E Putnam Ave, Greenwich, CT 06830) with the first rehearsal taking place on September 18. Accepted students will be placed into one of YAP’s three ensembles for musicians of different ages and ability.

Young String Ensemble (Beginner)

The Young String Ensemble (YSE) is a beginner to intermediate group, providing an introduction to the principles of ensemble and string technique that are crucial for the young musician.

Young People’s Symphony (Intermediate)

The Young People’s Symphony is an intermediate-level ensemble combining strings, winds, brass, and percussion instruments. Its members learn the orchestral techniques necessary to graduate to the Young Artists Philharmonic.

Young Artists Philharmonic (Advanced)

The Young Artists Philharmonic, our highest-level group, is a full symphony orchestra performing advanced orchestral repertoire. As the organization’s flagship ensemble, a high level of musicianship and commitment is expected from its members.
