1 Dead, 1 Seriously Injured After Crash with Stolen Truck in Groton: Police
Police said one man is dead and a woman is seriously injured after a collision with a stolen pickup truck.

GROTON, CT - Police said one man is dead and a woman is seriously injured after a collision with a stolen pickup truck Thursday night, according to media reports.
The incident occurred after a man who stole a 2013 Chevy Silverado out of Vermont sped through Groton, according to NBC Connecticut. Police said he was going 97 miles per hour in a 55-mile-per-hour zone on Interstate 95 North.
The suspect, 27-year old Valery Labossiere of Medford, Massachusetts, then left the highway and crashed into a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse, Fox 61 reported. The crash occurred on Route 184 east near King’s Highway in Groton after going through a red light.

The Mitsubishi was driven by Taylor Marie Wilkinson, 20, of Groton, NBC Connecticut reported. Police said her injuries are not life-threatening, and she was taken to L&M Hospital for treatment along with Labossiere.
Deion Anthony Pittman, 22, of Waterford was a passenger in the Mitsubishi, Fox 61 reported. He was taken to Hartford Hospital by LifeStar with serious injuries, and succumbed to his injuries Friday morning.
