4 Dogs Evacuated From Groton House Fire: PD

Police said a portion of the road is currently closed.

GROTON, CT — Police said a residential fire that occurred Friday around 1 p.m. on Lestertown Road in Groton is under investigation. Local fire and EMS teams were dispatched to the scene along with officers, police said.

Police said on Facebook responding units located four dogs inside the residence. They were safely evacuated. No one else was home at the time of the incident. (To sign up for Groton breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

Lestertown Road is currently closed between Starr Hill Road and Military Highway, police said.
