Ambulances Respond To Record Number Of Calls In Groton Last Month
The president of Groton Ambulance Association Inc. said his staff responded to a record number of calls in October.

GROTON, CT - Groton ambulances responded to nearly 500 calls last month, which is believed to be a record number by the company's president, NBC Connecticut reported. The data also revealed that the number of overdoes calls and calls involving people over the age of 60 has gone up significantly.
Groton Ambulance Association Inc. President Taylor Salva said his staff responded to 496 calls for service in October, according to NBC Connecticut. Silva said he believes this to be a milestone, as it is about a 300 call increase from October 2016.
Silva said Groton has seen a 22 percent increase in overdose calls, NBC Connecticut reported. The number of calls involving people over the age of 60 has also increased by 35 percent.
