Chelsea Groton Foundation Presents Scholarships To 19 Students

Those awarded included rising students from Groton, New London, Waterford, Stonington and more.

GROTON, CT – The Chelsea Groton Foundation recently presented scholarships to a select group of graduating seniors who represent 19 area high schools.

According to a news release, each of the individuals who applied for the scholarships excelled in academia, leadership and extracurricular activities during their high school years, and plans to pursue college degrees.

“The Foundation is committed to giving back to our communities. One of the best ways we are able to do this is by investing in the next generation of young adults, and supporting them as they work to achieve their goals,” Chelsea Groton Bank President & CEO Michael Rauh said in a release. “The scholarship recipients are a distinguished group of students with bright futures ahead of them. We wish them the best as they pursue their college education.”

The 19 recipients of $500 scholarships were:

  • Gabriella Farinha of Norwich Free Academy
  • Mitchell Johnson of Glastonbury High School
  • Nichole Roman of New London High School
  • Katiria Nadal of Ledyard High School
  • Nehemiah Robinson of Ella T. Grasso Southeastern Technical High School
  • Syllica Hernandez of Norwich Technical High School
  • Devin Kicsera of Fishers Island School
