Popular Pawcatuck Bagel Shop Moving To 'Iconic' Spot

STONINGTON, CT — The Flour Shop has purchased the "iconic Whistle Stop building" and will relocate its operations there, according to a Facebook post from the bagel shop.

"Our new location will feature a dining room, a huge patio for relaxing in the warmer months, and many other upgrades that you’ve been asking for (and some you didn’t know you needed!) Best of all, more space=more bagels!" the post reads.

The Whistle Stop building is located at 15 Palmer St. It once housed Universal Food Store and was later home to a pizzeria, according to Historic Buildings of Connecticut.

The Flour Shop will do "some light renovations" to the space. They aim to move sometime this fall before the holiday season.

Until then, the current location at 20 Mechanic St. remains open. The sourdough bagel shop offers breakfast and lunch in downtown Pawcatuck.

"We are very excited to nestle a little deeper into the community, provide more space and a better experience, and continue to serve you the best bagels and breakfast around!" the post reads.

The business was started by Jon and Hannah Young in 2021 in a Ledyard driveway, according to its website.

The Pawcatuck location opened in 2022.
