City Of Groton Police Name 2020 Officer Of The Year

The city of Groton has named its 2020 Officer of the Year.

GROTON, CT — The City of Groton Police Department recently announced its 2020 Officer of the Year.

The department posted the following on its Facebook page: "The City of Groton Police Department is proud to announce its 2020 Officer of The Year. It’s been a difficult time with demands made on the profession which have been unprecedented. The agency future is bright however, with the example and integrity of the Officer named and his commitment to serving our community.

"Please join us in congratulating Officer Alejandro Rosa for being named the City of Groton 2020 Officer of the Year. He is a consummate family man, and a seven year veteran of our agency. He served seven years previously as a uniformed Officer for the Central Intelligence Agency.

"He has distinguished himself in service to the City of Groton as our agency liaison Officer to Community Speaks Out. He has been on the frontline of our community’s battle with opioid addiction.
