The Coast Guard Training Facility at Avery Point
The public is cordially invited to a FREE historical presentation on Thursday, July 30 at 7pm in the UConn Avery Point auditorium
James Streeter, Town of Groton Historian, presents a photographic history of the Coast Guard Training Facility at Avery Point beginning in World War II and located there from 1942-1967. The presentation includes historic photographs, artifacts and narration. Please join us! This event is part of Coast Guard Summer, the celebration of the Coast Guard 225th Anniversary.
