Dog Dies, 3 Displaced As Fire Rips Through Groton Home
Emergency responders arrived at a Groton home early Thursday morning to find it fully engulfed in flames.
GROTON, CT — A dog was killed in a house fire early Thursday morning in Groton. The Groton Emergency Dispatch Center received a call regarding a fire at 900 at 90 Fishtown Road at 3:06 a.m.
Police responded and found the home fully engulfed in flames. Officers confirmed that three adult residents had all safely escaped. However, a pet dog died in the fire.
Several area fire departments responded and extinguished the blaze.

The Salvation Army New London County Canteen and the Red Cross provided aid to those displaced by the fire.
A neighboring home at 11 Rhonda Drive was evacuated as a precautionary measure.

The 90 Fishtown Road home suffered major damage and was deemed uninhabitable.
The fire is under investigation.
