Groton Town Police Promote A Safe Fourth of July Weekend With DUI Checkpoints.

The Groton Town Police Department will be conducting sobriety check points within the town on Friday, according to a press release.

"It is the goal of the Groton Town Police Department to address the major contributing factors of injury producing crashes, such as Speed, Operating Under Influence, and Failure to use Occupant Restraint Systems, and sobriety check points are one of our many approaches," the release stated.

In addition to this spot check, the Groton Town Police Department will have additional patrols over the holiday period specifically focusing on drunken driving, speeding, and seat belt use.
