Electric Boat To Hire 5K Employees In 2024: Reports
The Groton company announced Thursday that it will continue aggressive hiring to meet the demands of its U.S. Navy contracts.
GROTON, CT — General Dynamics Electric Boat said it's hiring 5,000 workers this year between its Connecticut and Rhode Island operations, The Norwich Bulletin reported. This comes after the Groton-based firm hired 5,300 last year.
Electric Boat's growth is due to demand from the U.S. Navy. The company has been awarded multiple billion-dollar contracts in recent years, according to The Norwich Bulletin.
Electric Boat President Kevin M. Graney made the hiring announcement Thursday at a morning briefing of state and national legislators. He said they're hiring across the board and that more than half the positions would be in the trades, according to The Day of New London.
