Fines Raised in Groton City for Parking Violations
Watch those meters and where you leave your car; it may cost you more than you think.

GROTON, CT- Due to an ordinance passed by City Council this week, parking violation fines and late fees have been raised, The Day reported.
Fines have been raised from $15 to $25 per violation, while late fees for violations have also been raised from $25 to $40, according to The Day. Nothing has changed in the city’s parking ordinance except the fines.
The city collected $13,335 in parking revenue for the fiscal year ending in June, as reported by The Day. The raises are in answer to the growing complaints from neighbors of the Electric Boat, as well as employees forced to park on residential streets rather than employee lots.
