Funeral - Gene Brustolon - Noank - 5/13/17

Obituary

Groton - Eugene "Gene" J. Brustolon, 96, resident of Noank, husband to Betty (Turner) Brustolon, died Friday, April, 28, 2017 at Bayview Health Center in Waterford.

Born in Proctor, Vt., he was the son of the late Eugene V. Brustolon and Anna Levis. Gene owned and operated Hi-Gene Service in Noank for many years up until his retirement in 2008.He was a past member of the Mystic Fire Department (B.F. Hoxie), a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Shriners International, a 50 year member of Coastal Lodge #57 A.F. & A.M., a charter member of the Noank Historical Society, the VFW Hugo Simonelli Post 3263 Mystic, the American Legion Post 11 Noank and a member of the Mystic River Chorale.

Gene also enjoyed walking, rowing and swing dancing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Carl H. Brustolon of Noank; and many nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by a son, Charles V. Brustolon; and his many siblings, Columbia, Dorothy, Larry, Americo, Ida and Joseph.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 13, at the Noank Baptist Church, 18 Cathedral Heights, where Gene was a longtime member, past deacon, trustee and choir member. His burial will follow at the Noank Valley Cemetery with military honors. There are no calling hours.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Noank Baptist Church.
