Girlfriend Says She Doesn't Remember Groton Shooting Details

The girlfriend of a man charged with murder said she doesn't remember what happened, despite being interviewed by police twice.

GROTON, CT — The girlfriend of a man on trial for murder said she was intoxicated when she talked to police on two occasions.

Joe Gingerella was shot to death in the Ryan's Pub parking lot in December 2016. Police said that Gingerella was shot after he and others tried to stop Dante Hughes, 32, from beating his girlfriend, according to The Day.

Hughes claimed he shot Gingerella in self defense. The jury was shown video recordings of Latoya Knight's interviews with police due to them being inconsistent with her court testimony.
