Groton Budget Cuts Impact Various Departments and Residents
The cuts are scheduled to take effect on July 1.

GROTON, CT- Town cuts take effect July 1, and residents may soon feel the impact of a number of them, according to The Day.
Effects of the cuts include Groton Public Library remaining closed on Sundays during the school year and the Groton Senior Center making fewer trips for seniors who need weekly rides to shop, The Day reported. The Department of Public Works will also eliminate four open positions rather than filling them.
The overall town budget was cut by 3.3 percent from last year, leaving a total of $121.6, as reported by The Day. Departments line Public Works and Parks and Recreation were hit relatively hard.
