Groton City Officer Appears In Court On Domestic Violence Charges: Report
Court officials said a Groton City officer appeared in court this week on charges of domestic violence.

GROTON, CT - A Groton City officer appeared in court Tuesday on charges of domestic violence, the New London Day reported. Police said the incident occurred June 14 in North Stonington.
A protective order was issued by a judge that prohibits Officer Kate E. Ellis of Gales Ferry from any form of contact with the alleged victim, according to the New London Day. Her case was referred to the family relations office, and her next court date is July 13. (To sign up for Groton breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
Police said the suspect inflicted a minor injury on an unidentified 41-year-old person while off-duty, the New London Day reported. The department confiscated Ellis' badge and gun following her arrest, police said.
