Groton City Swears In Former New London Batallion Chief
New London's former Fire Battalion Chief was sworn in as the new deputy fire chief for the City of Groton Fire Department.

GROTON, CT — Edward “Ted” Sargent, 54, was sworn in as the new deputy fire chief for the City of Groton Fire Department Tuesday evening after retiring as New London's Fire Battalion Chief that morning, the New London Day reported.
According to the Day, Sargent served New London for over 29 years. He is married with four children and has always had a knack for lightening the mood during tense situations.
Sargent said his last day in New London was emotional, however he is excited to start his new position in Groton, according to the Day.
