Groton Fireworks and Parade Details
Don't miss out on either celebration this summer.

Residents of Groton can have double the fun this July, with both the Fourth of July Parade and the Fort Griswold Celebration on the Thames.
The parade will be held this year on Monday, July 4 at 10 a.m., which will travel along Route 1 from Poquonnock Plains Park to the Groton Shopping Center at Drozdyk Drive. The reviewing stand will be at the Chelsea Groton Bank.
The parade will feature a Grand Marshal who is a submarine veteran from World War II and the 20 replica submarines that have been decorated for the CT Sub Trail will also make their public debut. The Parade Committee welcomes merchants, businesses of all kinds, non-profit community organizations, marching groups and bands.

Unfortunately, as of June 23 it has been announced that the Fort Griswold Celebration on the Thames event on Saturday, July 9 is cancelled due to budget cuts. Families, however, can still catch the fireworks that evening.
Visit the town website for more information on the parade. Happy celebrating!
