Groton Man Charged With Breaking Into Ledyard Home: PD

Police said a Groton man was arrested after allegedly breaking into a Ledyard home and pretending he lived there.

LEDYARD, CT — Police said a Groton man was arrested Friday after allegedly breaking into a Ledyard home and pretending he lived there.

According to police, 51-year-old Scott Rhoads forced entry into a home on Old Fort Lane. The accused was found inside, acting as if he lived there, after the homeowner called police to report the alleged break-in, according to a release.

Police said the accused’s mother had lived at the home and had passed away days before the incident. The accused also threatened to kill his pastor and the homeowner, police said.

The accused was arrested on charges of burglary, criminal mischief and threatening, according to police.
