Groton Man Receives Sentence for Gun and Drug Offenses
Police said the suspect was found with packages of cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin and more.

GROTON, CT - A Groton man was sentenced Monday to five years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for gun and drug offenses.
Court documents show Lorenzo Malcolm, 28, was arrested on March 1 in Groton after he was found with five individually-wrapped packages of cocaine, one baggie containing crack cocaine and two individually-wrapped baggies of heroin, according to a release.
Police said a search of the vehicle Malcolm had been in also revealed a gym bag that contained a .22 caliber Sig Sauer pistol and seven rounds of ammunition. A small backpack that contained more than 300 grams of heroin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia was also found.

The suspect, who has been detained since his arrest, plead guilty to charges on November 9, 2016.
The investigation had been conducted by the Town of Groton Police Department and the Regional Community Enhancement Task Force.
