Groton Man Sentenced To Prison For Heroin Trafficking Charges: PD
Court officials said a Groton man has been sentenced to six years in prison on charges of trafficking heroin.

GROTON, CT - Court officials said a Groton man has been sentenced to six years in prison on charges of trafficking heroin. His sentence will be followed by four years of supervised release.
Court officials said an investigation by the Groton Town Police Department and the Regional Community Enhancement Task Force revealed that Jose Davila, 33, of Groton was selling heroin from a camper parked at a South Road property.
Investigators conducted a court-authorized search of the camper on May 23, 2016, and seized more than 100 grams of heroin, according to a release. Davila was subsequently arrested on that date.

Police also seized a .380 cailber pistol with an obliterated serial number, 80 rounds of ammunition and items used to process and package heroin for street sale, court officials said.
Davila pleaded guilty on March 1, 2017, to possession with intent to distribute heroin, and has been detained since his arrest.

Court officials said Davila’s criminal history includes at least four prior convictions, including convictions for threatening, sale of illegal drugs and risk of injury to a child.
