Groton Man Who Barricaded Self In Home Faces Weapons Charges: PD
Police said a Groton man who was arrested in May after barricading himself inside his home is now facing several weapons charges.

GROTON, CT — Police said a Groton man who was arrested in May after barricading himself inside his home is now facing several weapons charges.
According to a news release, police said Robert J. Patterson, 52, of Groton was arrested May 25 after a woman told police the accused had barricaded himself inside his Fleming Court home. The woman told police he was "despondent and believed to be armed," and had indicated he sought "death by cop."
Police said officers executed a firearms search and seizure warrant at the Fleming Court residence and located and seized the following items:

- Silver Revolver Pistol with a cut barrel (no identifiable serial number)
- Black Intratec 22 cal semi auto with treaded barrel
- Hesse model AK-47 7.62 rifle
- 14 various high-capacity magazines
- Silencer device for intratec .22cal pistol
- two banker boxes of miscellaneous ammunition
Police said none of the seized items were registered through the Connecticut Firearms Unit. An arrest warrant for the accused was subsequently served on June 22, police said.
Police said the accused was charged with two counts of possession of an assault weapon, alteration of a firearm identification number or mark, possession of a silencer and 14 counts of possession of large capacity magazines.
