Groton Residents Advised to Look Out for Fake Utility Man in Area
Groton Parks and Recreation is advising residents to be on the look out.

GROTON, CT – Groton Parks and Recreation has taken to social media to warn residents of a fake utility man in the area.
The post said someone with an ID badge from a utilities company has been going around to houses, requesting permission for entrance into the home to inspect gas and oil tanks.
He has been seen at a few homes in different locations, and sometimes wears an orange safety vest. He drives a silver Honda with Massachusetts plates.

The department knows of 6 homes the suspect has been to. Residents are advised to be on alert and ask for ID.
Residents are also advised to close and lock the door and call the police if necessary.
