The committee said waiting to invest in the schools could place taxpayers at a disadvantage.

GROTON, CT – A Groton political action committee made a case Tuesday for investing $84 million in the schools, The Day reported.
The Groton 2020 Schools committee said waiting to invest in the schools could place taxpayers at a disadvantage, according to The Day. Interest rates will likely rise, while state reimbursement is likely to fall.
The committee is supporting a plan to build a new middle school adjacent to Robert E. Fitch High School, The Day reported. The plan would also include renovating and converting two middle schools into elementary schools and closing three older elementary schools.
