Groton Sued Over Tax Assessment by Fairview Odd Fellows Home of CT

The Town of Groton, Groton Sewer District and West Pleasant Valley Fire District are named as defendants.

GROTON, CT – Fairview Odd Fellows Home of Connecticut has filed a lawsuit to challenge its tax assessment as unlawfully excessive, The Day reported.

The complaint was filed in New London in May and transferred to New Britain Superior Court in August, according to The Day. It names the Town of Groton, as well as the Groton Sewer District and the West Pleasant Valley Fire District as defendants.

The Groton Board of Assessment Appeals had previously denied an appeal by Fairview, The Day reported. Fairview runs a senior living community and has also built dozens of new homes in the last two years.
