Groton Town Manager Set to Retire

Groton's town manager will retire after spending 35 years serving the community.

GROTON, CT - The Town Manager of Groton will retire in March after a long time of serving the town, The Day reported.

Mark Oefinger, 63, announced in a letter Tuesday that he will step down from his position this spring, according to The Day. His last day in office is scheduled to be March 10.

Oefinger has served Groton for 35 years, of which he served 14 years as the Town Manager, as reported by The Day. He will use vacation time before his last day to give the town time to prepare for his departure.
