Groton Town Police Lobby Open For Residents To Escape Heat
Police suggest using the library to escape dangerous heat but noted the police department lobby is open as a cooling center at any hour.
GROTON, CT—Groton Town Police said residents should use the Groton Public Library as a cooling center during the dangerous heat wave. But they have also opened up the police department lobby for residents as refuse from the extreme heat.
The library is open Saturday July 20 until 5 p.m. Police told Patch that residents may use their lobby "any hours over the weekend." The Groton Police Department is located at 68 Groton Long Point Road.
Police said people should call 211 for additional help, if needed.
