Groton Town Police Place First in Promoting Traffic Safety

Their efforts were part of the state Department of Transportation's Connecticut Law Enforcement Challenge.

GROTON, CT - Groton Town police were recently recognized for their work promoting traffic safety, The Day reported.

Town police placed first in their division for their efforts promoting traffic safety for the third year in a row, according to The Day. Their efforts were part of the state Department of Transportation’s annual Connecticut Law Enforcement Challenge.

Groton officers stopped more than 1,500 people speeding or committing traffic violations during 2015, The Day reported. The department was recognized during the DOT’s annual Traffic Safety Summit last month.
