Israel and Palestine....a discussion...
Guest Speakers discussing political situation with Israel & Palestine....a "Tree of Life" Program
From Dr. Paul Hayes of the Noank Baptist Church....
Friends,
I’m sending out a reminder of an upcoming program that should be of great interest to many, particularly given the daily news we read about more violence in Israel and Palestine.

On Tuesday, October 20, Noank Baptist Church will host one of the Tree of Life programs featuring Israeli journalist, Gideon Levy, and Palestinian activist, Suhail Sami Khalilieh. The program will include music by Aleen Murad Masoud, a Palestinian vocalist and violinist and cultural representative of Bethlehem University.
Mr. Levy is considered one of the deans of Israeli journalism as a columnist for the newspaper, Haaretz, and as an outspoken critic of the government’s policies toward Palestine. Mr. Khalilieh is head of the Settlements Monitoring Department at the Applied Research Institute in Jerusalem (ARIJ), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the self-reliance of the Palestinian people.

This presentation will be provocative, insightful, and educational for those seeking a perspective not commonly provided by the mainstream U.S. press. The public is welcome. A voluntary donation at the door is requested.
This program will repeat the presentation being made at the Tree of Life conference at the First Congregational Church of Old Lyme which will occur this Sunday afternoon, October 18. That program will also feature Pink Floyd founder, Roger Waters, and requires registration on the Tree of Life website: www.tolef.org.
I hope you will be able to join us on Tuesday evening.
Blessings,
Paul
