Keep Your New Year Resolutions with Groton Parks and Rec

A new year is a great opportunity to start fresh and get healthy. Maybe you packed on a few extra pounds from those holiday cookies (I know I did) or you are looking forward to bathing suit season around the corner. Either way the time is right for getting active and we are here to help!

Groton Parks and Recreation has something for everyone looking to make a healthy start in 2014. No matter your age or activity level, there is a class for you. Programs start the week of January 21 so don’t wait, register today!

Adult fitness programs include Yoga, Boot Camp, Piloxing, Insanity, Core & Power Yoga, and more. To keep kids moving we have Yoga for youth and tweens, Swimming from age 6 months and up, Dance beginning at age 1, indoor Soccer, Karate from age 3, and Gymnastics for 18 months and up. Programs are available at different times throughout the week to accommodate virtually any schedule.

Fitness is not the only thing on our agenda this winter. Groton Parks and Recreation also offers programs to keep your mind active. Learn to speak a new language with our popular Conversational French program or try your hand at Screenwriting or Short Story Writing. Try something new to keep the winter doldrums at bay!

The Groton Senior Center is also bursting with activity for Groton residents 55 and up. With a fitness center, gym, and full schedule of fitness programs there is always something going on to keep seniors active. Call the Senior Center at (860) 441-6785 or stop by and check out what’s happening today and how to participate.

As always, all of Groton Parks and Recreation’s programs are available to people with disabilities. Upon request, we provide reasonable accommodations to facilitate participation for people with physical challenges. We also offer a variety of Adaptive programs for individuals with special needs, including karate, swimming, cooking, painting, and more.
