Man Accused Of Promoting Prostitution In Groton: Police

BREAKING: Police said the man is being held in lieu of a $50,000 bond.

GROTON, CT — A Quaker Hill man is accused of promoting prostitution in Groton, police said.

On July 7, the Groton Town Police Department, assisted by The Regional Community Enhancement Task Force, which is comprised of detectives and officers from southeastern Connecticut, formed to combat the heroin epidemic in the area and to improve the quality of life for citizens, arrested one for prostitution related charges, police said in a news release.

Based on an on-line advertisement, the Groton Town Police and Task Force officers initiated an investigation into prostitution occurring in a local hotel, police said.

During the investigation it was determined that the accused, Reginald E. Green, 27, of Burlake Road in Quaker Hill, was acting to facilitate the prostitution and manipulated the female posted in the advertisement to engage in the act, police said.

As a result of the investigation, an arrest was made and an amount of money was seized, police said. The accused is currently being held at the Groton Town Police Department on a $50,000 surety bond.

Green is charged with: Promoting Prostitution, Interfering with Police/Investigation.
