A detailed investigation revealed that a 2001 BMW operated by Kendall Metcalf, 20, of North Stonington was traveling eastbound on Gold Star Highway, approaching the intersections of Packer and Welles Road. Meanwhile, Ali was traveling westbound in a 2001 Toyota Camry on Gold Star Highway, approaching the same intersection.
