'High-End Wine Bandit' Identified; Warrant Issued: Groton Police
A 1990 Chateau Petrus went missing from Groton's Octagon Restaurant. The man is a suspect in similar crimes in New York and New Jersey.

At the Octagon Restaurant in Groton, a man was seen leaving an area where a rather expensive bottle of wine was stored. Shortly after he was seen near the wine, restaurant staff discovered they were missing a bottle of 1990 Chateau Petrus.
According to Wine.com, a bottle of Chateau Petrus 1990 wine will cost you $4,799. But don’t get excited and try to buy it there — it’s sold out.

The Town of Groton Police Department sought help from the public, to identify the suspect in the above photo. The alleged larceny occurred at approximately 2:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19.
“Thanks to your efforts and the assistance of police agencies in New Jersey and New York, we have identified the ’High-End Wine Bandit’ as 25-year-old Scott M. Deluca of New York,” the Town of Groton Police Department said via Facebook on Thursday, Oct. 22.

An active warrant for Deluca’s arrest is being held by police. Police thanked the public and officers from New Jersey and New York for the team effort in identifying the suspect.
“Deluca is suspected in committing similar crimes in several towns in New Jersey and New York,” police said.
