New Details Released in Groton Man's Murder

Police have released new details concerning the shooting of a Groton man.

GROTON, CT - Police have released new details on the murder of Joey Gingerella, 24, who was shot outside a Groton pub Sunday morning, News 8 reported.

Police said the victim was shot in the parking lot of Ryan’s Pub as he tried to help someone being assaulted by the 30-year old suspect Dante Hughes, according to News 8. Police are looking for Hughes, who they say is considered armed and dangerous.

Gingerella has a history of helping people, being very open about his struggle with addiction, News 8 reported. He was present at many forums and vigils for the group Community Speaks Out, meant to aid those fighting addiction.
