New Year's Eve- An Occasion to go All Out

New Year's Eve is the one night of the year that you can really go all out. It is one of the few acceptable occasions that you can pull out that completely sequined dress, or glittered shoes that you got for a steal regardless of the fact that you have nowhere to wear them.
A few tips and tricks for these prized frivolous pieces in your collection:
1) Go easy on the jewelry, you don't need large gemstone earrings, or shiny dangly necklaces. The dress is the statement, and to wear anything that rivaled it would be an insult to your dress.. And might bring some unwanted attention if you happen to stand too close to a street corner.
2) If you are wearing an over the top dress, play down the shoes, and vice versa. Don't wear the completely glittered electric blue shoes with the completely glittered electric blue dress. Yes they are a match made in heaven- but five year olds match their clothing, and we don't want to look like we are five do we? Remember to pick ONE statement piece and stick with it.
3) Go easy on the makeup. Remember we don't want to blend in with those on the street corners. A little eyeliner and lipgloss wouldn't hurt, but full on smokey eyes and bright red lips may be a little too dramatic.
4) If you are looking for something that can convert from party to party, or dinner to club, try pairing your dress with a blazer. It makes the dress more casual and appropriate for certain situations, while still up-keeping the integrity and fabulousness of the dress. Then when you are ready just take off the blazer. Or if you like the fashion forward and playful look, keep the blazer and pair it with simple black pumps.
5) Confidence is your best accessory tonight ladies. If you love the piece, then rock it like it's 2013. Nothing is more fashionable than a woman who is glowing in her outfit tonight, and that only comes when you feel comfortable and absolutely love what you wear.
So dig out that questionable dress from the back of your closet with the tags still hanging on it and put your best foot forward.
