Police Arrest Groton Burglary Suspect Spotted by Neighbor

Police arrested a suspected burglar after he was spotted by a neighbor and fled on foot.

GROTON, CT - Groton Town Police arrested an attempted burglary suspect Monday who fled on foot after being spotted by a neighbor.

Officers responded after the suspect was scared off by a neighbor who saw him during the attempt. He then fled on foot towards the Kings Highway section of town, according to a release.

Another call for service was received shortly afterwards for a second residential burglary, where multiple pieces of jewelry were stolen. The suspect, 41-year old Jarrett Romaine, was located a short time later in the Groton Square parking lot.

Romaine was found in possession of the stolen jewelry and subsequently taken into custody. He appeared in court Tuesday, and is currently being held on $100,000 bond.
